Well, yes, there are certainly differences in rates of complications for abortions provided under safe, sanitary conditions by well-regulated medical professionals as opposed to those completed in developing countries.

Unnecessary intervention is always risky no matter what. Rather safe than sorry.

Citing statistics from developing countries as a reason why abortion should be banned is a bit dubious, because that is a trend that is writ large in medicine as a whole and not unique to abortion.

I can understand that.

I have hesitant to say 'yes' because it is an angle that is not often explored, as most abortion debate tends to quickly deteriorate. The vast majority of abortions take place prior to any viability, but in such rare instances where there's a desire for abortion > 21 weeks gestation that doesn't have medical reasons, I do think it is an option that best-preserves the rights of each being. The individual would no longer be pregnant, per their bodily autonomy, and the fetus would go on to continue experiencing life.

I am glad there is some common ground between us. Generally we are on polar opposite sides of things.

I think, at our core, people are more similar than different.

See here is the thing. I am responding to something you actually said. You are implying I am saying things of which I did not.

I made this topic because in the state of Maine, you will likely be able to get a doctor to sign off on an abortion at any stage of development. You are saying a bunch of nonsense about how you feel republicans feel. It is nonsense, and knowing full well it is nonsense I am entertaining your theory about how people are against abortion so there are more people on earth to force religion on.

Those were your words. I have never heard that amount of nonsense come from a single statement in quite some time, so I would still like to know if this is actually what you think, and if so please expand on this theory.

All right, let's stay neutral: We'll see how murderous this "vague" law will be anyway, a doctor going too easy on terminating fetus late in pregnancy will not be left unpunished imho he/she will be hunted by both sides.

An interesting question towards Americans here, who pays for the abortion? Where does the money come from? Who pays for the abortion in Maine?

taxpayer

paying their own way would be the responsible thing.

You believe conservatives oppose abortion to increase the amount of people on the planet to force religion on? Dude, who hurt you?
