It didn't come from australian intelligence. It was a report of information that came from australia, by an unnamed diplomat who mischaracterized what papadopoulos said, which the fbi characterized as intelligence.
Australian high commissioner alexander downer was present in the meeting and disagreed with the content of what was reported to the fbi.

This is the initial unverified, unvetted, uninvestigated information from australia.

This comes from pages 51-54 of the durham report.

A bit more on how the australian info reported to the fbi was handled.
Again, the senior australian who was also present for the meeting completely disagreed with the diplomat's version of what was said by papadopoulos in "paragraph five" .

Well downer is human filth so i wouldn't trust him period, he will say whatever he is told to say, would love to know who the other diplomat was.
Alexander downer was a key figure in the government that took australia's guns.
