Nobody is talking about protecting potential human life. They are talking about protecting actual human lives, which is what fetuses and embryos are.

Forcing a woman to carry and give birth to an unwanted child is slavery and torture, is that any less of a crime than murder?

Nobody is forcing a woman to get pregnant. She got there all by herself. And if she doesn't want the child, she can put it up for adoption, rather than killing it.

Just to make it clear, I believe abortion should be legal. I see no point in making women give birth to a child that they don't want. That being said, abortion is still a form of murder.
