She's a blessing to Republicans, they don't want to get rid of her. She's untouchable to democrats.

The DoJ was given the facts of her criminal offenses and we know at a minimum the FBI, DoED & ICE were looped in with meetings. Nothing ever happened. We've only got the black box from the outside, for all we know they could be about to file an indictment publicly tomorrow, or they might have silently dropped it months ago. But nobodies got a motive to pursue her.

Fuck yea. A lot of Republicans that I know are getting really tired of this "all bark and no bite" attitude.

But its clearly against his own political interests.
First he'd get hit by the backlash as the media spins a narrative of Trump's storm troopers throwing Ilhan Omar into an unmarked van
Then he'd be taking care of the Democrat's own problem for them, removing their most toxic and divisive politician

The Trump DoJ has shown an extreme unwillingness to pursue any political prosecutions, too busy picking up the fallout from Muellergate and the botched political prosecutions there. He's been pretty emphatic about not doing what Lynch / Comey / etc were doing. Do you see Andrew McCabe on trial right now? They had him dead to rights on the leaking. Strzok, Ohr, Comey, etc etc- the top political and FBI officials have been given a pass and Sessions, Whittaker & Barr have all followed the same line of just investigating, publicizing and firing rather than prosecuting.

Going after Ilhan Omar for her crimes, no matter how well proven they are or how much mountains of evidence or even official documentation beyond any doubt there is, is still perilous for the DoJ and for the country, and it doesn't serve the administration's interests.
The only way they could really go forward is if they think the black eye from Omar's crimes being laid bare would damage the Democrats more than she already does, but they'd still be risking opening the can of worms of political prosecutions

An alternative explanation to what Goom laid out: going after a far-left black Congresswoman from Minneapolis would have produced extremely bad optics in the aftermath of the George Floyd protests. The country was already a powder keg anyway, and opening this investigation would have made it even more explosive. In a similar vein, it might be more effective to open this type of investigation when we're closer to election day. Any voter thinking of Ilhan Omar when he hears the word "Democrats" on election day is a huge win for the GOP, so the more recent this storyline is, the better. Going for it now would risk that it's already forgotten in November.

came back several minutes later, white house is on lockdown, secret service shot someone outside the lawn, unclear what circumstances yet but they said the situation is under control and Trump went back into his speech

sounds like a suicide-by-cop-by-secret-service though. They said a guy approached the agent, announced he had a gun, then drew a metal object and pointed it at the agent in a shooting stance, before the agent shot him once, then rendered aid
very opaque on whether or not the guy was actually armed.
