prob the same thing that's happening in Wisconsin. it's easy to look good in the early stage by doing just about anything, if you're a state that closed it's schools early and sectored off some business as non-essential you did good early on compared to states that did literally nothing and then only closed things late.
but with only a half closed approach it just takes a bit longer to ramp up. here i go to stores and see 1 in 4 people with a mask, people coughing all the time no mask, restaurants full (like we're talking FULL), bars full, schools will reopen 5 days a week full days, etc. and just yesterday we had 800+ new cases state wide in a day, a fucking day. we're at a weekly average of 7% of tests coming back positive. tests have flatlined, but positive results are spiking, cases are spiking, deaths spiking, etc.
its easy to have a good opening move in chess, its hard to close out mate.
But all across Europe, we're not seeing the same kind of issues in the post-reopening phase. Yes, we also had local outbreaks, but they were almost always occurring in meat packing factories and public housing complexes. And more importantly: across Europe, we've been able to keep these outbreaks local and get the situation under control again.
According to the PaRD liberals, it was the fault of Trump and irresponsible "trumpy" Governors (like DeSantis and Kemp) that the reopening turned into a disaster, and the country would not have these problems if only the entire country had followed the much more prudent and scientific approach of Democratic governors or "responible" Republicans like DeWine...
