I don't get it. The part about "language" being one of them.

exactly ^_^ Communicating badly then acting smug when you're misunderstood isn't cleverness.

I mean I think he's trying to tell a joke (the "douchebag" character) but I don't get the joke. Like "What is the last word in 'the dictionary'?... 'dictionary'."

But I don't understand how "language" fits the criteria of what he was asking for.

Oh wait, no I get it, he said "There are three words in "the English language""... then he went on to mislead you with irrelevant info like "angry" and "hungry" ending in "-gry", but really he was asking what the third word in "the English language" is which is "language".

Now I can die happy.

4) Something did not come from nothing.

Prove that there must be a beginning.

i.e. Prove that the universe is finite.

If you cannot prove that the universe is finite then you cannot make the statement that there must have been a beginning or a creator.

If you can prove the universe is finite then we'll go from there.

I don't see how you can logically conclude the universe must have or must not have had a beginning by determining whether the universe is infinite or finite.

No infinite item has a beginning. By it's very definition it is unbounded. So if you cannot disprove the universe is infinite then you cannot prove the need for a beginning.

A beginning is only necessary with a finite entity.

It depends what you mean by infinite. Infinite in space/mass? This is much different than infinite in time, which is more accurately referred to as eternal.

A ray is an infinite item with a beginning.

The counting number are an infinite set of numbers with a beginning.

Try to brush up on your definition of infinity.

Sorry this is what I get for not proofreading after I finish a response. "No infinite item has a beginning." should have read "No infinite item has to have a beginning."

You can only prove the need for a beginning if you have something finite. If it is not finite then you can't assume that there was a beginning until you find it. (That doesn't mean that there isn't one)
