have to say that it is probably the most reasonable i have heard from anyone associated with the republican party in many years, yes there was an overstatement of the non-interventionist ideas within the republican party and the ludicrous claim that reagan was a peaceful president but otherwise it hit the nail on the head - thx for posting
np. thanks for the compliment.

But Osama Bin Laden did not attack the United States because of Iraq, nor was he a friend of Saddam Hussein.
Ron Paul needs to stay out of policy debates he knows knowing about.
Osama and al qaeda were explicit in their reasons and Ron Paul paraphrased them pretty accurately in what limited time he had.
Military Presence in the middle east and sanctions on Iraq were two of them.
Osama on iraq: "the greatest mass slaughter of children mankind has ever known"
Al Qaeda:
Quote
"for over seven years the United States has been occupying the lands of Islam in the holiest of places, the Arabian Peninsula, plundering its riches, dictating to its rulers, humiliating its people, terrorizing its neighbors, and turning its bases in the Peninsula into a spearhead through which to fight the neighboring Muslim peoples."
Quote
"despite the great devastation inflicted on the Iraqi people by the crusader-Zionist alliance, and despite the huge number of those killed, which has exceeded 1 million... despite all this, the Americans are once against trying to repeat the horrific massacres, as though they are not content with the protracted blockade imposed after the ferocious war or the fragmentation and devastation....On that basis, and in compliance with Allah's order, we issue the following fatwa to all Muslims: The ruling to kill the Americans and their allies—civilians and military—is an individual duty for every Muslim..."
Its very clear Ron Paul knew what he was talking about. Far more so than anyone else on that stage.
