But why the recent movement in the polls? A majority of the French have been hating Macron's guts for many years. Le Pen hasn't really changed her platform or messaging in recent months, neither did Macron. So why did polls only move lately? Is it just a coincidence that it happened right as prices started to surge and expectations of even higher inflation took hold (due to the war, as opposed to the previous expectation of "transient" inflation)?
