It's not a human life, its living human tissue up until a certain point. A human life is capable of having experience. There are points it is more like a wart than a complete human. Both are human.

A folding clump of cells is a lot like a wart. Similar material and similar ability to experience things, similar ability to process energy using ATP. Yes I've taken a college sequence and the first few weeks there isn't a brain capable of having a mind emerge from it. I would agree in later pregnancy not protected by Roe v Wade, after the first trimester, you can argue that there is a human life in there, but you can't say that a mind capable of experience is in there when there isn't a developed brain capable of a mind to emerge from. The human soul is completely encompassed and is part of this mind that has to emerge at some point, and after the first trimester is when this is and that IS currently up to the states to regulate.

They (pro birth radicals) are dangerous because they think their personal belief is objective reality. The belief is self deified like the fervent belief in monotheism, Communism, Fascism, Free Market Fundamentalism, and other totalitarian ideologies who believe that history will justify them. They are people who call themselves pro life yet murder people in churches and used nail bombs to attack crowds...lie under oath during confirmation as a court justice. Ends justify the means no matter what they are people. Dangerous men.

It's not merely that a zygote is an organism. It's the fact that it's human life. And yes, it's totally worth it to legislate the bodies of citizens so that murder does not happen.



We have laws on the books criminalizing murder, because we as a society decide that murder is wrong. Is that also a "metaphysical belief"?
