That is your problem, you are so accustomed to the belief that you need to 'earn' or 'work' your way towards salvation when in reality Jesus has already accomplished it for you.

so you're saying that someone who is a sodomizer, and who doesn't believe in god, that commits suicide will go to heaven? That the person has not changed a bit on the day they die? Is that what you believe?

Yes, that's why God sacrificed himself to himself to appease himself. It makes perfect sense!

Then why you preaching all the time#? If we're already saved then what's the point?

I can see where and how this is going. Are you happy for the conversation to continue the way it is?

Seems like a better date.
This exit from Egypt by the Hyksos probably included the Israelites as well. The story of the Exodus is most likely bases on the expulsion of the Hyksos from Egypt, for there is no other record of any mass exit from Egypt (Robertson 1990, 36; Halpern 1994, 89-96; Redford 1897, 150). The evidence seems to fit well with Josephus' account. Although the Egyptians saw the expulsion of the Hyksos as a great military victory, the Israelites viewed this as a great salvation victory for them. This seems similar to other events recorded in ancient history where both sides claim a great victory. Ramses II battled with the Hittites and almost lost his life, yet he calls this a great victory, but so do the Hittites. In reality it was a stalemate, so they both signed a treaty (ANET 1969, 201; Soggin 1993, 213) Ahab is seen as a powerful king (ANET 1969, 279)

This seems about right after yesterday night when I was looking into it.
I found a pretty good discussion about it here http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=122374&st=15

Im starting to think the basis of these stories in the bible came from events that happened but of course they couldn't explain them so they would invoke a deity to attempt to explain.

Another thing on the 1st link you linked that caught my eye was Jacob-El. I'm reading a book called Stories from Ancient Canaan that deals about the Ugaritic tablets found in 1928 and the Gods El Baal and Asherah. Though its off topic here.

I believe that there are two responses that you can make as shown here:

Luke 23: 39-43

39 One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”

40 But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? 41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”

42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.[d]”

43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Which kind of criminal will you be?

Is that your understanding of it eh? What other perceptions do you have about The Bible?

Just because some people are already saved it doesn't mean that you stop hearing about the Good News about Jesus. We all need to be constantly reminded of the fact that Jesus died for our sins.

Do you believe he died for your sins? Then there are those who have never heard of the word before. Imagine if they are already saved because they have never heard of Jesus. If that is the case then the worst thing we can possibly do is tell them about Jesus because
then we would be running the risk of damning them by telling them. If that were the case then Christianity would be suppressed. No, the fact remains that they are not saved even though they have never heard of Jesus so that is all the more reason to go out and tell everybody
about him.

Well there's nobody on this forum who is unaware of the story of Jesus so I reckon your work here is done, no?

I would be very surprised indeed if you could find me even one person on this forum who has never heard of Jesus.
