The Trump administration understands and acknowledges that our war in Afghanistan is pointless, fruitless, and needs to end. The Trump administration negotiates a temporary peace agreement with the Taliban that includes a specific date the US will pull out of Afghanistan. The Trump administration puts a pullout plan into play that would leave no US resources or military equipment on Afghanistan soil.

The Biden administration violates the terms of the peace agreement and fails to pull out on the agreed date. The Biden Administration pulls out without any plan, leaving Afghan security forces without even bothering to let them know, "Hey dudes, we're out!" The Biden Administration leaves untold millions (billions?) worth of vehicles, supplies, military vehicles, weapons, and ammunition, and destroys millions (billions?) worth more, because the withdrawal was so willy nilly and unplanned that the US could not withdraw it's own armament.

And we're celebrating this as "leadership"?

Precisely. AFAIK, only the most braindead idiots didn't believe the Taliban would retake control of their nation as soon as we were gone. Only the most braindead idiots thought for a moment the Afghan Security Forces would be willing or able to stand up to them.

The point was to withdraw in orderly fashion, leave nothing behind that the Taliban could use, and provide enough warning and cover that the Afghan Security Forces could maintain at least partial control of their own fortified positions to have some sort of fighting chance.

Instead? Welcome back Taliban! You appear to be stronger than ever! Are we going to get an offshoot Islamist group like ISIS once the Taliban releases imprisoned Jihadis too?
