From a political, partisan perspective, proxy children voting rights via their parents are a silly proposition to begin with. The Democrats' political strength (and the GOP's woes) are not coming from "frigid, imperious cat ladies", they come from the liberal domination of the media, culture and institutions. Childless urbanites leaning heavily Democratic is a consequence of this cultural hegemony of the left, not its root cause.
Furthermore, I would tread very carefully on this issue if I was a ruthless Republican strategist. Does JD Vance not realize that Dem-leaning minorities and immigrants are much younger and have higher fertility rates than their own, aging and disproportionally white voter base? Even if childless yuppies are a deep blue demography in this day and age, I could still imagine this proposition to net more votes to Democrats than Republicans.
From a policy point of view, I consider this proposal to be inadequate and setting the wrong incentives. Low education, low income, low class people have more kids on average and these are the types of parents that would gain disproportionate amounts of voting power under such a rule. It would inevitably lead to dysgenic policies. The government should support and foster children and families with corresponding policies because that's the right thing to do from a human, moral and also economic point of view. These policies can and should be implemented anyway, we don't need to reallocate voting power for this end.
