In 1968 the Democratic nominee VP Humphrey was badly trailing Nixon over Vietnam, so he declared in an October surprise he would stop bombing them & start some peace talks if he won. This was popular & Nixons lead shrunk to 5 points. So Nixon basically violated the Logan Act & secretly had a team meet with Vietnam & convinced them that his administration would be better for them to work with. Vietnam pulled out of the peace talks, & Nixon ends up barely winning.

Is this an attempt to dispute my position?

Nations during WW2 did some things and Nixon engaged in diplomacy pre-election. How in the world is that "foreign nations attempting to run interference in our elections isn’t something new or unique to 2016". It's not even close to equivalent.... and you only gave a couple examples of foreign interference from 80 years ago.

So, based on your examples, Russian interference wasn't normal or expected.

hilary was a warhawk. "teheehee we came we saw he died" russia most likely didnt want a war with hilary usa.
