So how does a terrible decision to give the people a say mean that it should be mitigated by another terrible decision to give a generally uninformed populace a say? That's textbook inconsistency m8.
Remainers that don't believe going back on the referendum are now being called ideologues by those that are implicitly seeking to reverse the Brexit decision under the pretense of democracy and staying in the single market.
Democracy doesn't mean having a vote and then that's the end of it. There is nothing undemocratic about attempting to change the people's minds and calling for another vote when you believe those people's minds have been changed.
You're just buying the leave bullshit misrepresentations. Wouldn't be surprised if I looked back and found one of your main arguments for leaving was 350m extra for the NHS.
The thing those leavers are really worried about is that if we have another vote - it doesn't look good for leave. They're genuinely worried that the people may have changed their minds. But if they have then whose will are we representing any more? If the people no longer want Brexit then why are we going forward with it? Seems patently ridiculous to me. Seems like the will of the people is being ignored actually. As that is literally the ONLY reason we are steaming ahead with this increasingly stupid course of action then that is the reason we have to undermine in order to stop this shit train before it reaches the even shittier station outside the EU.
If there is a way to prove that Brexit isn't the will of the people without holding another vote then lmk. Otherwise - not inconsistent at all. Different circumstances. We should never have had a referendum but now we have the referendum and the 'will of the people' are the main motivations for going ahead.
