Mitt Romney carried Georgia by less than 8% in 2012 with neither party contesting it whatsoever. The margin of victory is close to irrelevant by itself -- if both parties know who the victor will be on Election Day months before it comes then the state's not competitive, let alone a battleground state. It would take, you know, both parties actually battling in the state for it to really earn that classification. Obama carried Pennsylvania by 5 points, visited the state in June and ran an ad there he ran in 28 states. Is that a battleground state? Just like how the Republicans didn't bother to contest New Mexico against Obama because they knew they'd lose it then, the Democrats didn't bother to contest it decades earlier. The Electoral Votes count the same whether the victor carries the state by one vote or one million votes.

Well you're right about one thing (and only one thing), it's definitely just speculation: it's well-established that Donald Trump is the only candidate who is disproportionately benefiting from, moreover relying on, uneducated people. Trying to project that onto other candidates amusingly just shows the height of your ignorance. It'd probably be a good idea to refrain from characterizing the contributions of others as ignorance as well -- you embarrass yourself every time you do it because it's painfully obvious that you're hilariously uninformed.

Except that it does, though. You not getting the subject matter doesn't really have any bearing on its validity. The state doesn't have the electoral history that you're alleging. It wasn't even remotely competitive in the 1970s or 1980s and it hasn't been competitive since 2004. That rapid shift from a solid Republican state to a solidly Democratic state is precisely why it isn't a battleground state. The trend hasn't slowed, let alone reversed, so there's absolutely no reason to expect a different outcome this year.

I just find it more humorous than anything. It speaks to how completely clueless not only you are but the average Republican is if they think they've got to put a Trump candidacy down because it's putting New Mexico at risk, or that it's even still winnable for any of their candidates. There's no battle there; the Democrats have already won it. The only way they lose the state is if they've already lost the election, in which case the parties wouldn't be competing there anyway.
