In Nevada our governor extended our phase 2 through July about a week ago. There have been a shitload of new cases and the trends are pointing up since then, so I think he will take action after July 4th to bring back restrictions we had early on in this thing. He's been very aggressive about how he wants to handle this thing, so I expect it.
Given we border California and Newsom just shut down stuff in 17 of their counties, recommending to the others to do the same, I feel we will follow suit.
My question is how we handle gaming. It is basically established that bars are a target for shutdowns and honestly gaming can't be a whole Hell of a lot better. As someone not particularly invested in gaming it seems like it ought to have remained closed throughout this whole thing. As far as societal needs I'd rank gaming just below the man willing to blow someone behind a dumpster for a handle of Evan Williams.
If not just the bars, but also gaming is shut down for months on end, Nevada's economy will face an apocalyptic recession. There's probably no other state whose economy is as dependent on one thing as Nevada's in on the Strip. I can understand why your governor tries to keep it open as much and as long as possible.
