meanwhile in europe
polands highest court has ruled that EU law does not stand above the polish constitution
and austrias chancellor kurz is resigning as i type this
short version: he allegedly used state money while he was foreign minister in 2016 to buy positive media coverage to help him become chancellor
when will these idiot politicians learn that nowadays the media is a political actor as well? they kept the ibiza video hidden for a long time until they decided to blow up the conservative government, now they got kurz as well
good riddance
Austrian politics is unimaginably corrupt and dirty. In hindsight, the leaders of all 3 major parties from their pivotal 2017 election have gone down in scandal. First, the head of the Social Democrats for having astroturfed false flag facebook sites which smeared Kurz and made it seem as if they were coming from the right-wing populists. Two years later, the right-wing populist leader Strache went down for having offered to sell the country out to a Russian oligarch in exchange for the oligarch buying media coverage for them. And now, Kurz himself also goes down for having used taxpayer money to pay a corrupt media manager to prominently publish a pre-determined narrative based on faked polls that they obtained from a corrupt pollster.

Not to mention that the chancellor before that (from the Social Democrats) was also involved in a scandal about using taxpayer money to buy favorable media coverage.
Austrian politics is better than Game of Thrones and House of Cards.
