, now you guys need to work on the future to make brexit a success

like i said;
You are saying that to someone who said he was ready to leave his country if situation was about to become too bad in UK.

are you really that out of the loop? there were people filling all kinds of containers, including fucking water bottles with fuel to hoard it, lol. maybe it's "fine" where you live, but you should definitely watch the news once in a while.

except of course you're suggesting that the bbc / reuters / other news organisations are just making shit up, and the army has not in fact trained hundreds of people to drive fuel tankers, will not be deployed from monday to deliver fuel to empty gas stations, and there aren't thousands of special visas issued to import foreign lorry drivers?

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-58766648

it's hilarious how desperately you're trying to downplay the issue, you very much sound like boris johnson on this, lol.

What percentage of people do you think were filling containers? Seeing a picture shared on social media where one person is doing it and extrapolating it is caveman logic

The army are being used as a contingency option for the localised areas in the South East where some petrol stations still need refuelling

The shortage of HGV drivers is not specific to the UK and is mostly not due to Brexit, if you watched the news you'd have known that:

always good to have a solid skill, you should be able to work anywhere in the anglosphere right?

All except the US, where I wouldn't auto-qualify for their CPA so I'd have to pass an exam to be admitted. They accept English speakers in financial centres like Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai too

If it wasn't for covid I might have already gone by now

listen, boris - you can backpedal and downplay all you want ("localised" / "contingency" / "mostly not"), but FACT is that the UK government is issuing thousands of temporary visas and desperately trying to attract foreign lorry drivers, is deploying the army to help out, FACT is that british gas stations and shelves were / are empty, and no one in their right mind would describe that as "fine" or even lie about it, claiming it's "already been and gone". it's hilarious how defensive and dishonest you get when i point that out, lol.

Every country is trying to attract HGV drivers, as the video explained we've got the second highest vacancies after Poland, with Germany a close third. Both those countries are in the EU

Until the backlog of tests are cleared, issuing temporary visas to ease the pressure is a logical step

Hope that helps clear things up for you

not sure about poland, but we did not have empty gas stations and shelves, we are not deploying the military to deliver fuel, and i certainly would not pretend it was "fine" if that was the case. hope that helps you understand the difference...
