Seems like Trump has said to the NY Times in an interview yesterday that he would evaluate whether or not to come to the aid of Baltic nations (the newest NATO members) if they were invaded by Russia.
Then eluded to "reevaluating" out security promises to only include "those who have fulfilled their obligations to us".
If Putin was looking for an excuse to invade he might just have it in a Trump presidency, and he could bring about the dissolution of NATO as a result. With the EU losing members and economic crisis in the Mediterranean, plus scary reports from Turkey and the Ukraine still in shambles, added on to potential trouble in the Baltics... Not a comforting outlook if Daddy Trump takes office.
Exactly. The president of the United States has to watch every word he says, especially considering foreign affairs. Trump keeps saying that we need strength, and the world doesn't respect us anymore, but most of his foreign policy proposals would make America less strong and less respected.
