Almost everything considered a mass shooting is inner city gang violence. Many here in the US, and basically everybody outside the US who wants to hop in the conversation knows absolutely nothing of the statistics and other relevant facts when it comes to gun homicides in the US.

As an extremely small example, would you care to share the actual % of gun homicides committed with a rifle, handgun, and shotgun, respectively?

After finding that number would you like to then discuss why the only conversation about gun bans focus on rifles chambered in 5.56?

Ofc, im not saying half of the country is dying every day by mass shootings BUT every life matters.

If an 18 year old can buy rifles and do a school shootings and x kids die, it matters. It may be a small number but it doesnt mean its meaningless.

At a minimum, there need to be common sense laws.

“Common sense” to the gun control people is removing access to the weapon least used for gun violence.

Almost everybody in the government are not elected representatives. This is not an exaggeration almost everyone. Elected reps are an extreme minority of government employees, and the only ones we have any semblance of control of.

By common sense laws I mean increase the min age (maybe 21?), ban particular types, extensive background checks, a waiting period... you know common sense....

Isn't a gun more dangerous than alcohol or weed? ye think about it.

These were just couple examples on top of my head. What is there to argue exactly?

The minimum age for many firearms and ammunition is already 21. Many, many types of firearms are banned already, even in Texas (which is the example everybody likes to use).

Background checks are pretty extensive. You have to have a squeaky clean record to legally purchase a firearm. The only argument over background checks relate to private sales. When it comes to private sales, the seller is responsible for who they sell to. If they sell to somebody who would fail a background check they committed a felony.

Almost every state has waiting periods.

Your “common sense” laws are already laws dude. Like I said, “common sense gun laws” is simply innuendo for “ban 5.56 rifles”. I mean there is nothing to argue about when you don’t even know what it is you are arguing about.

Yes, elections in the US are much less meaningful than you are led to believe.
