Have you never seen a movie from the 60s? Watch a scene in the car when they're driving. CGI has been a thing since the fucking 30s ffs.

You want a composite image of the earth? it works. You want a moving image of the earth from space? no problem. Dunno why you think the 60s was so backward. They'd already split the atom, landed on the moon etc. Idk why you think basic cgi was beyond their technology. CGI in cinema began in the early 70s. It's not a stretch to believe that governments had that tech in the 60s.

It's hard to understand a world without computational technology, but before the 90s computers were really out of reach to everybody except advanced research institutes, high end business, and military, and even then they couldn't do much.
