Quote
Donald Trump has signed four executive orders designed to lower drug prices as he mocked “rich people” and “so-called allies” he accused of benefitting from inflated medicine costs.

“A lot of rich people ... aren’t going to be so rich,” the president said during a Friday afternoon event.

He said some company executives and “middle men” would not be “so happy with me” after the directives took effect.

Mr Trump has long said drugmakers are taking advantage of Americans who need prescription medication, especially older Americans. At the start of the event, he said the four orders were particularly crafted to help seniors.

His administration also recently won a court case where hospitals were trying to keep prices secret.

Anyways.

So lately i'v noticed a fuck ton of Trump flags around where i live. I live in Buffalo NY, a city that has a massive black population and essentially hasn't voted red in over 100 years. Maybe i'm just misremembering but i don't think i'v seen this many Trump flags around in 2016. Most of them are in the suburbs which are overwhelmingly white.

Maybe it's recency bias thinking there's more this time around, idk. One thing's for sure, for every 1 Biden flag/lawn sign i see at least 2-3 Trump ones. Just really weird to see that in such a blue state and part of the country.

Anyone else seeing something similar around where they live?

buffalo while being a city is in upstate NY, which is probably more conservative than NYC. that said it's not surprising

It's a nice victory in the socioeconomic war. This is an admission that socialist communist liberal satanic universal healthcare is slavery but also better for the people.

Nobody gives a fuck about Biden, so you see the lack of balance in enthusiasm. The left told the Democrats this would happen. It isn't surprising.

After dark on November 3rd, I just know you're gonna sneak out (dressed in black), and vote for Trump. :D

/e You'll probably be wearing MAGA undies.

The hilarious thing is that Democrats are now favored to take the Senate. If you had told me that in February I would have laughed in your face.

Well, since February, the worst public health crisis in a century has hit the entire world, crashing the economy that was the centerpiece of Trump's reelection pitch, exposing his incompetence in running an administration, raising the salience of the issue of healthcare, which is quite literally the worst policy issue for Republicans, covering the glaring weaknesses of his challenger and preventing him from holding his rallies and taking advantage of being a much more energetic and charismatic campaigner.

Covid was already a quintuple whammy for Trump even before he bungled the response.

Obama was a political novice for over half of his first term. I think it would have been better if he lost in 2008 to Hillary so that he could learn the ropes.

This is a good point I've made before as well: it would have been better for everyone if Hillary had won the Dem primaries in 2008. She would have run an administration at least as efficient as Obama's and pursued largely the same policies without serving as a catalyst for liberal and conservative identity politics. She would imho have lost in 2012 to some conventional Republican, and then in 2016 or 2020, a more experienced and matured Obama could have taken over and been a much better president than he was in 2008-16.

Obama abused power worse. And the supreme court wasnt courageous enough to stand up to Obama.

They stood up to him in A LOT of ways. Roberts prevented abuse of the commerce clause which is really important. He also kept voting rates for the states, they slammed him on his abuse of recess appointments, etc. We got a lot of religious liberties back as well. We also got DC vs. Heller which was HUGE. I think we should count our blessings.

DC v. Heller was decided in the summer of 2008, months before Obama's inauguration.

I think Buffalo, like all of upstate New York, is just a really "Trumpy" region relative to its demographic makeup.
Still, I wouldnt put too much stock into yard signs. In 2012, there were countless people posting on various online forums how Romney signs were far more prevalent than Obama signs, and he still lost by a comfortable margin.

And the left was correct with this criticism. Like I said numerous times before: Biden is an awful candidate in principle, and if there hadnt been a once-in-a-century pandemic to act as the deus ex machina for Democrats, Trump would have defeated him decisively.
By sheer coincidence, Biden's inoffensive milquetoastiness makes him the perfect candidate to stand on the sidelines and do nothing while Trump self-destructs.
