About 58% of men convicted in Sweden of rape and attempted rape over the past five years were born abroad, according to data from Swedish national TV.

In 1994, of the 314 men arrested for rape, 79% were of European descent while 21% were of non-European descent; 50% were foreigners.[32]
In 2018, Swedish Television investigative journalism show Uppdrag Granskning analysed the total of 843 district court cases from the five preceding years and found that 58% of all convicted of rape and attempted rape had a foreign background (Southern Africans, Northern Africans, Arabs, Middle Easterns, and Afghans)[22][31] and 40% were immigrants born in the Middle East and Africa, with young men from Afghanistan numbering 45 stood out as being the next most common country of birth after Sweden. When only analysing rape assault (Swedish: överfallsvåldtäkt) cases, that is cases where perpetrator and victim were not previously acquainted, 97 out of 129 were born outside Europe.[31] The Mission Investigation programme, broadcast by SVT, said that the total number of offenders over five years was 843. Of those, 197 were from the Middle East and North Africa, with 45 coming from Afghanistan, and 134 from Southern Africa.[31] "We are very clear in the programme that it is a small percentage of the people coming from abroad who are convicted of rape," chief editor Ulf Johansson told the BBC News. Former policeman Mustafa Panshiri, who was born in Afghanistan, said that Afghan immigrants bring with them attitudes towards women and sexuality which collide with Swedish values concerning equality.[31][22] Swedish Television's investigating journalists found that in cases where the victims didn't know the attackers, the proportion of foreign-born sex offenders was more than 80%.[22]
In 2021, a study found that of 3039 offenders aged 15-60 convicted of raping over 18 years of age in the 2000-15 period, 59.3% had an immigrant background and 47.8% were born outside Sweden.[33]
Sweden has become the rape capital of Europe. Rape is only part of the problem in Sweden however, as entire towns have become no-go-zones for police, EMTs, and journalists. Police are attacked, patrol cars are stolen or set ablaze, and journalists who have went in with the purpose of showing that these places are not violent have been attacked. There are no statistics to back up the idea that migrants are the cause for this rise in sexual crime. The reason for this being that Sweden has simply stopped documenting the race and ethnicity of criminals in their crime break down reports. In 1996, the final year the Swedish Crime Prevention Council released a break down of the data, 77% of the rapes were committed by non-native immigrants. An internal memo leaked telling police not to describe the skin color, nationality, or ethnicity of criminals. When a Swedish politician made a connection between the religion of Islam and rape, he was fined for hate speech, and district court said it was irrelevant if his claim was true. What is even worse is that Sweden has a terrible record of rape conviction. It is very difficult not to come to the conclusion that this is being done in order to cover up the crimes these migrants are committing for fear of being labeled intolerant.
In March 2018, newspaper Expressen investigated gang rape court cases from the two preceding years and found that there were 43 men having been convicted. Their average age was 21 and 13 were under the age of 18 when the crime was committed. Of the convicted, 40 out of the 43 were either immigrants (born abroad) or born in Sweden to immigrant parents.[53] Another investigation by newspaper Aftonbladet found that of 112 men and boys convicted for gang rape since July 2012, 82 were born outside Europe. The median age of the victims was 15, while 7 out of 10 perpetrators were between 15 and 20.[54]

According to the researchers, Swedish-born offenders with Swedish-born parents accounted for 40.8% of the offenders. But, strikingly, almost half of the offenders were born outside of Sweden (47.7%). Of those foreign-born offenders, 34.5% were from the Middle East/North Africa, with 19.1% hailing from the rest of Africa. As a percentage of all convicted perpetrators, therefore, 16.4% were foreign-born individuals from the Middle East/North Africa, and 9.1% were foreign-born individuals from Africa (excluding North Africa).
How far does this signify over-representation? On the basis of population records kept by the official agency Statistics Sweden (SCB), approximately 20% (19.7%) of the Swedish population are foreign-born individuals. Among those convicted of rape and perpetrated rape, the foreign-born account for 47.7% of those convicted — so they are over-represented by a factor of 2.4.
