i think its a way to limit people taking tests. just say its all the same date u can get back to work to stop people with no symptoms clogging the system.

But the U.S. has ramped up its testing capacities a TON. Iirc, you're meanwhile testing over half a million people per day. Limiting tests might have been useful in March and early April, but these rules should have been adjusted to the new capacity like... 2 months ago.

CNN and Fox News can talk about how easy it is to get a test in cities of 10m people where they have pop up buses that drive around and test people for 75$. in the midwest, in medium sized cities, with small capacity hospitals and generally only 1-2 providers per region its not easy at all. they do all they can to just get u to stay home and prevent anyone getting tests. we've had massive spiked in Wisconsin, thanks to reopening bars.

i read a "response" to the "these are democrat cities" critique, which i agree with largely (not the response lol), and it basically went into an emotional rant about how the stain of conservative mindsets can last decades and that even being in a state or area with other republican run places causes these issues. not "well even some democrats are shitty", or "we're not perfect either and still learning". no no no, literally "you smell so bad that it makes us have body odor".
