Andrew Jackson only hated the British and Central Banking. He was a bastard, but he would as often lead a group of slaves or indians into battle as he would conquer them.

The indians for what its worth sought to use european power to settle old scores between themselves. And that they did to good effect. They did not view the Europeans as a threat despite people of the Iroquois visiting france, etc.

Only Tecumseh got it that whites were evil and were going to conquer. If you're Cherokee then you have reason to hate the dude, only on the same way you hate Genghis Khan though. Andrew Jackson was an American Khan. He unilaterally conquered Florida and led a slave-indian army and defeated the British in the Battle of New Orleans.

but even if we call his war in Florida just, even though it was done illegally with out the behest of congress, we can't ignore that he used this as a message to enact the trail of tears. and also that he failed to carve out a large enough chunk for natives and didn't provide adequate support to relocate them which resulted in deaths of many. indians still hold that promises were made to give tribes their own land when in reality many tribes were shunted onto too little land, etc.

the dude is a straight up villain to native people for nothing more than being the potus during the trail of tears, that alone makes him a bad dude to them. and i basically agree, he shouldn't crack the top half of presidents on my all time list, and plenty are ahead of him that did very little.
