meanwhile in poland:
their ruling party (ironically named "law and justice") has pushed through (simply ignoring parliamentary procedure to vote until it "passed", despite an already passed motion to postpone the vote) a censorship bill, in an effort to silence foreign (outside the EEA) media outlets critical of their right wing government. the specific target is popular american-owned news chanel TVN, which has been a thorn in the side of their current nationalist government.
most likely the bill will NOT pass the senate, and as of now it looks like the ruling party doesn't have the votes in the lower house to overturn the senate's likely rejection, but since they apparently don't care about the law and parliamentary procedure, anything could happen. what a great "democracy" our eastern neighbours have under their right wing populists government...
i wonder where all the poland and hungary "fans" (obviously admiring their ultra-conservative approach to women's rights, lgbtq rights, christianity, rejection of the EU which lifted the country out of poverty with billions in subsidies, and immigration) are, who love to defend those authoritarian regimes, while clutching their pearls over "censorship" and "free speech" when a fellow bigot gets in trouble for threatening to kill immigrants. this is what ACTUAL censorship and authoritarianism look like.

with whats going on in germany when it comes to democracy, law and courts you need some serious nerve to even talk about poland
we have plenty of dirt at our own door and wouldnt even fulfill the EU criteria anymore, if we were to join now
PLEXIT is inevitable just like HUNXIT, the EU is full throttle going towards a centralist superstate and there is no way they will accept this

Oh no, Poland no longer allows media outlets controlled from overseas to flood the country with propaganda against a government that dares to rejects the neoliberal consensus.
Stations wanting to air in Poland have to be based in the EU - the horror, the authoritarianism!
this
its called self defense, why would a country allow foreigners to spread whatever propaganda they want?
freedom of press for native media is plenty
