Have to get yourself a nice Subaru instead. Bulk are made in Japan. Only a small % in Indian.

Think they have a 3 row SUV.

Think they have overtaken Toyota in reliability anyways after Toyota's recent blunders with their Turbos. Should have just stayed naturally aspirated.

Every small engine they have put a turbo in has been a blunder for every car maker, I'd stay away from those like the plague.
But then again before I even consider a used automobile I look up things like how the engine operates mechanically, and be sure that the transmission isn't a CVT.

I don't understand the move to turbocharged four-cylinder engines. Is it an emissions driven thing?

Yes, Emissions and chasing those bogus CAFE standards.
You see crap like an crossover with a weak 3 cylinder turbocharged engine with a timing belt submerged in oil where a timing chain should be, paired with a CVT transmission.
all so they can get a theoretical MPG on a dyno at a certain speed setting.
This has achieved a few things, making automobiles less safe, less reliable, and more expensive.
For all the crying they do about the paltry sum of people killed by semiautomatic rifles every year, they have not one complaint about the 4000+ increase in what was a stable average auto fatality number every year.
We used to complain about how GM vehicles were pieces of shit 20 years ago, but now those automobiles are quality compared to todays offerings.

Id caution on the Subaru. They have issues with the cam carrier seal because they use some kind of RTV instead of hard gasket. Something to look for when buying used. Have had oil slop all over for last 100k miles topping it off

Toyota naturally aspirated ICE is my go to now. Sequoia King

Subaru's aren't good anymore. My parents have been Subaru loyalists for decades and the quality has taken a nosedive. They got a new Outback and it was a lemon, nothing but problems with electrical & other stuff, the dealership breaks more things instead of fixing them.

Apparently they acknowledged problems for the American market but not Canada. The small Crosstreks are nice but everything else you're taking a huge risk

The Crosstrek/Impreza platform with the 2.0L engine is quite reliable, but annoyingly underpowered. I have an older gen WRX and the thing is immortal.

It's an emissions/gas mileage thing while maintaining decent power. They're usually pretty reliable if you don't treat them like race cars.

I owned a Crosstrek that I used to keep in BC for when I went down, but just became a pain in the ass to keep a car stored there just for a few trips per year

My understanding is that the Crosstreks are the best that Subaru offers

Now I remember the problem, spontaneously cracking windshields. There was a class action in the US: https://glassbytes.com/2024/05/subaru-owners-frustrated-by-broken-windshields/

My parents Outback windshield also spontaneously cracked, no rocks or anything. Pretty defective
