let me translate for you:

demonstrations by conservatives and libertarians during which no one was killed or seriously injured = bad, will lead to second wave of coronavirus.
demonstrations by liberals during which large-scale looting and arson took place and which saw several people killed and many more injured by protesters = good, might lead to more coronavirus cases, but now that it's a liberal cause the protesters are fighting for (instead of something trivial and inherently right-wing like earning money and feeding one's family), these concerns dont matter anymore according to the very "experts and scientists" whose opinion should always determine our behavior (according to liberals).

Timing matters. The conservative protests happened during the upswing of the pandemic, when we were still seriously fighting in many places and still totally closed down. The number of cases are on the downswing now even while we are opening back up. We are in a less risky time now and so protests are held to a more lax standard.

We were down below 20K new cases a day, for about 1.5 weeks. Last two days they were up. 25k and 22k respectively.

Cases will increase for many reasons. We are opening back up, people are going back to work, and yes, protests

That would be a valid point if the liberal side hadnt been arguing for exactly the opposite for literally weeks and weeks (and up until very recently!) when Trump and certain governors were pushing to reopen.
For weeks, their line of reasoning was "we still have over 20k new cases per day, this is too soon to reopen, we're risking a second wave, dont you understand the nature of exponential growth, why are you putting the lives of others on the line with your reckless, selfish behavior" etc.

And then, all those concerns which the liberal side was vehemently arguing for are supposed to be outdated or irrelevant almost overnight? That's just not plausible.

And just for the record, before you waste your time with a stupid counterargument: in terms of the infection risk, there is a huge difference between what the right-leaning anti-corona protesters were calling for (allow workplaces, stores, schools to reopen with safety guidelines in place) versus what these same experts are suddenly supporting now (i.e. shoving tens of thousands of people into tightly packed places with absolutely no distance between each other).

This blatant double standard is just too glaring, no amount of mental gymnastics can conceal it.

For MY liberal stance.. the virus is a real thing still, and the number will undoubtedly skyrocket over the protests..
I don't understand the "its no big deal" attitude all the sudden.. Its eerily similar to 1918.. minus being as lethal as then etc..
I think the re action should be the same.

Agreed.

Mass protests where it's impossible to socially distance in the midst of a pandemic is just wrong. How many more people will die as a result?

It's also factually incorrect that we're on the back end of the pandemic considering antibody tests show only about 10% of the population have been infected.
