Read on Monday that Checks/Deposits should be starting on the 15th. If he doesn't sign the bill until Friday, would that delay said check/deposit dispersal?

At any rate, yay for the NY and California bailout funds, expanded child tax credits, etc. etc. The pork is thick in this one.

Edit: It's only Wednesday. Why is he not signing until Friday? Genuinely curious here. The bill is written and passed. He has already signaled his support of it. If Trump were to delay signing such a bill for a couple days, it'd be headline news that he's obstructing relief. Isn't the position of POTUS an every day job, not just end of the week?

I assume it'll take the Dems that long to get Biden filled with enough meds that he can steer a pen? :D

Oof. My assumption would be it has something to do with setting up the photo op, or something? I dunno. I don't really care either way. A few days (or weeks, or months, for that matter) more or less won't really impact me personally. Just found it curious that after all this time and all the wrangling, it's going to take another 2 days for Biden to find his pen. :o

Perhaps. I think the Democratic House and Senate are on board with the Biden Administration, and there's a lot of swamp at work. It may be possible that the Admin wants to review the bill. See if there's a "suggested change" they can make, something to slide in that seems relatively benign that will be useful later. If so, then a few more days to get it added is a job well done, and a couple days delay before signing they can shrug off on, "C'mon man! It's the size of a novel! You don't want me to sign something I haven't read, do you?! This is important! If we don't do this right, we'll damage... uh... The thing! You know man! We can't damage the thing! Ask Kamala! She'll tell you! You aren't American if you don't care about the thing! C'mon!"
