My issue has nothing to do with the environment. Thats a completely seperate problem. Your point is valid I'll agree to that though.

They don't even have to eat well, just eat less. It may not be the most crazy healthy thing, but its healthier than the strain the weight puts on their bodies.

It shouldn't be a separate issue though. The global human impact of climate change, land destruction, ocean acidification, water and food scarcity are all tied to animal agriculture and all inextricably connected to our health.

If you're going to make an argument that fronts as "pro-health" or that is concerned with health, then let it be concerned with health and acknowledge that your diet is also super unhealthy and associated with major burdens, and that you too should be forced to be ashamed of yourself.

Focusing on solely fat people in the name of pursuing "health" is a farce. It's not pro-health, it's just anti-fat.

I am anti fat though. Because of how unhealthy it is...

You don't have to be the extreme of every scenario to be right.

It's not about being extreme though, it's about being consistent.

Anti-fat and pro-health are not the same thing. You can say that you're anti-fat "for health reasons", but that doesn't mean you're actually concerned with health and social impacts, it just means you're attempting to justify your anti-fat beliefs.

Okay then, I'm anti-fat. This doesn't change my stance in any way. I also don't find this somehow shameful, like it feels implied to be.

I'm not implying that it's shameful, just calling a spade a spade.

Since you're anti-fat, do you think fat people should be shamed?

And so you think shaming people who're fat gets the job done?

There's always going to be an element of shame with being fat. Both personal and by society. Being obese for the most part is not appealing and has terrible effects on the healthcare industry and the US is already suffering because of it.

Overeating somehow needs to be curbed. I'm not really sure what the best method to accomplish this would be. People want to demonize carbs to the point people think you should never eat them but it's more about how much you are eating and realize you just be reasonable. You see a doctor or anyone with expertise in nutrition and determine what you should eat based on your height/gender and health background.

But if people just stopped eating over 3k calories a day, the rate of obesity would drop significantly.

I mean I'm not going to try and make fat people feel bad but shame on some level it inevitable due to the nature of how negative obesity is.

Anecdotally, it worked for me. My step brother as well.

I don't know, and I even doubt it would work 100% of the time.

I'm willing to hurt a few feelings though.

There are probably a multitude of ways to approach it. Sitting down for a long logical conversation. Incessent hounding by those close to you, not shaming you, but pushing you. Straight up ridicule. And many others.

My only problem with shaming is when its done out in the open towards those who are actually trying to get better, but aren't to a healthy point yet. Like making fun of some overweight person at the gym.

So then you'd be comfortable with people who're vegan accosting you and shaming you until you changed?

You'd also find their strategy effective?
