https://www.startribune.com/3-americans-held-for-years-in-china-have-been-released-the-white-house-says/601187629very concerning line I want to know more about:
>The Chinese government also announced Thursday that the U.S. had returned four people to China, including at least three Chinese citizens who it said had been held for ''political purposes,''
and a person who had been sought by Beijing for crimes and had been living in the United States. It did not identify the four.
Did we just extradite a dissident to China?
China has been trying to enforce its party rule with secret police around the world. We announced 3 prisoners traded from both sides and one unspecified person who wasn't in prison in the US
So we just have Bejing a person who was "living in our country?"
Is this as bad as it sounds?
>Mao said a Chinese fugitive had also been repatriated from the U.S., showing that "no place can be a permanent safe haven for criminals." She added that the Chinese government would continue to pursue fugitives.
