Cubans in Florida is literally the only noteworthy electoral shift the GOP has to their credit from 2020. But when they take that trend, along with WAY less effectual trends elsewhere in places like Texas with conservative legal migrants, and claim they're gaining ground with latinos generally...... that's silly.

Both trends can be attributed to the quality of the governor.

Not sure the electoral math on Florida changes much anyways, with felons getting the vote back and 2022 and 2024 the dems are gonna hammer that niche for registration. but we'll see.

Trump won Florida and lost, so Florida may not be the game changer it's been historically in tight races anyways. Texas wasn't really purple, and won't be for some time even if California exodus continues, so the "in roads" there are largely moot.

Republicans simply never will win over anything but an ineffectual % of minorities with bootstraps rhetoric and policy. Religious ties only go so far with those electorates. Black Baptist churches preach food stamps.

Hispanics don't like being lumped like that.

hopefully they're decent at reading then. i'm making a distinction between Mexican migrants, who are more likely to vote GOP when the legally enter the US, and central american or south american migrants who are less likely to vote GOP if they enter legally, and also less likely to enter legally into the US.
