Biden didn't get those votes from his rallies. It was already cemented that people wouldn't be voting for Trump, Biden didn't have to build support, Trump built support for Biden by acting like a clown. If they aren't voting for Trump they will vote for the opposition that has the greatest statistical chance of beating Trump.
It makes complete sense that Biden got the most votes. You had all those middle of the road people from the 2016 election that voted for Trump who shit the bed politically, and they flopped to the other side this election. So now you have past Democrats voters plus this new group that previously voted for Trump that were turned off by the way he conducted himself or the fact he didn't fulfill something that they potentially cared about.
