So the rundown on the murder of an officer the other day in Minneapolis is coming out, not all the details in that strib article but it basically goes like this

Mustafa Ahmed Mohamed (35) goes to an apartment to murder two people "known to him", shooting them and fleeing. Outside he hijacks a moped at gunpoint, and a driver witnesses this and rams into Mohamed to stop him. Officer Mitchell shows up alone as the first responder despite it being a report of an active shooter because he's on mandatory overtime, sees Mohamed on the ground and assumes he's one of the people shot and goes to render first aid. Mohamed ambushes him and shoots him multiple times, as well as another bystander, as other officers start arriving who then engage in a gunfight with Mohamed and kill him. In the end Mohamed and Mitchell are dead, as well as one of the two people shot in the apartment, the other guy in the apartment critically wounded, as well as the bystander. Apparently Mohamed was also a career criminal with several active warrants but its Minneapolis so he was walking around free
