I mean, you're right. This is politics. Pence will change some of his stances, and Trump has flip-flopped a lot just in the past year.

It's just funny. This is not the same man who started running a year ago. He's a full-blown politician. I can almost guarantee you he didn't want Pence himself, I think his political advisers recommended the pick. I think he wanted Gingrich or Christie more. This is a political choice.

He vehemently called out using teleprompters and talked about how he was more straight-forward and genuine, now he uses them. He vehemently criticized Super PACs and told Americans he's his own man, now he uses them.

Trump always talks about how politicians are so corrupt and incompetent. It's just funny, because in this past year, he has become more and more like the political class that he so harshly criticizes. He has completely sold out to his supporters.

I'm not saying Trump is done. Don't miscontrue what I'm saying.

I'm saying he is a politician. Don't let him fool you. He does whatever he needs to do to get elected, including flip-flopping on any stance necessary.

He isn't the same candidate that he was even just a couple months ago.

The tale of Donald Trump is a unique one. Books will be written about this run. It's been amazing and remarkable. The last couple chapters will talk about how the RNC got him by the balls and he went from intriguing outsider to standard politician.

We've already heard one such idea, like I mentioned, but it's half an idea and it's terrible. I don't know if we'll ever hear the other ones fleshed out but based on what he's shared about them they sound just as terrible. I don't know why you asserted something when you clearly had no idea what you were talking about, that was stupid. It was doubly-stupid considering who you were talking to.

There's gong to be books specifically about his 2016 presidential run. It's a remarkable event in modern American politics.

The most remarkable thing is what it's done to so many careers and what it could end up doing to so many more, in both parties and in nonpartisan agencies. Public policy is going to have its impact on the citizenry, but no one ever thinks about the fact that some of us are going to actually have to run the fucking country these next four years, and Trump's nomination has made that job significantly harder all on it's own even if he loses the GE. His nomination alone has set the Republican party and fucked a lot of careers, especially in the Republican party, and in the event that he did win the GE a lot of people who have worked in both parties or in nonpartisan capacities would then be in a position of having to ask themselves "well, do I press pause on what I'm doing and risk my career in order to serve my country, because I know his administration is not going to be able to fill all the posts they need to, let alone be able to fill them with A-level and B-level staff like they're supposed to?"

Making that sacrifice is probably the end of your career. Choosing not to do it could make you a scumbag, because holding out and passing the job on to someone less qualified will only cause innocent people pain and could even put the country at risk, because that's how big of a threat Trump is to our democracy itself. That's the remarkable thing about his nomination: the sheer stakes it carries for so many people who have spent their careers trying to build a better country, regardless if they work for that party or this one, or that one and now this one, or for no party at all.
