The USA just tried to bully the world and the world said nah mate.

wrong on this in atleast 2 ways.

1. It brought nations to the negotiation table.
2. It was never an attempt to bully other countries.

Already getting emails from US vendors / shops in the US saying prices going up in May, selling off current supply AND saying certain items will not be back in stock.

Well, that will force looking at other options.

Agreed, this is either not the objective I thought it would be, or this is horrible way to go about convincing developed countries in the same trade deficit boat as the United States, to Tariff "developing" countries with massive trade surpluses.
That was the only way I could see the Tariffs working out good.

I hate this sympathy for small businesses who built their business from supplies, supplied by a foreign nation.

Yeah I'm cynical because they don't empower their community.
Starting your own business is great, I approve of it but face the facts that you can't control another nation.
Had the table been turned and let's say china cut off trade with usa, they would be screwed.

It's just another example of the overall lack of personal responsibility in today's human.

The USA just tried to bully the world and the world said nah mate.

Even after major tariff reversal, the 10 year is 60 basis points higher while they have alienated all their allies. It's a disaster for the USA.

The Trump administration could have just threatened tariffs and given time to negotiate more favourable deals if they actually thought trade practices were unfair. But what they've done is slap blanket 10% tariffs on the countries they even have slight trade surpluses with, like the UK, so the only logical conclusion is that they think general, non-specific tariffs are objectively a good thing.

Feels like a Suez crisis moment for the US where there is a global realisation that the USA are not the biggest superpower in the world by far like they were from the period leading up to the fall of the soviet union until the present day.

lol

Worst case is we go to what it was not that along and nothing happens.

Realistic case is we get at least some corporate investments within the US while supply chains continue to move away from our geopolitical enemy. We also forcefully extract concessions from partner that before would have zero incentive to give.

The world isn’t going to give up 34% of the global consumption market because their feelings are hurt. And if they do they’d be retarded for it.

Tariffs have put 4 large developments on hold at a minimum or killed them outright. Great insight!!!

The US is cooked, but we are kind and will accept a small number of refugees in Europe after the tariffs ruin your economy.

You have no weapons to defend yourself with, and you claim that America is cooked? Euros are a funny bunch
