He's already flip-flopped on immigration, several times if you believe his campaign when they argue that his "Muslim ban" is really just an immigration policy and not just naked bigotry or xenophobia. If you believe his staff and surrogates speak for him then he's even flip-flopped on his silly wall idea, too. He's only got more cover on the student loan issue because he doesn't even have a tangible proposal on that to flip-flop on, as pathetic as that is. Their half an idea put forward on that is narrow-focused on liberal arts colleges.
He won't lose support from his supporters because they were dumb enough to support him in the first place. They don't even have an elementary understanding of public policy and neither does he, that's why it never matters every time he flip-flops or when he humiliates himself by saying something demonstrably untrue. He's speaking to the head-nodding crowd and they're going to keep nodding their heads regardless of how foolish he looks.
Not only Nixon, but it seems post-Lewandowski they've been leaning in to "America First" more and more. Every proposal of theirs is now couched in "America First." It's... interesting.
He's laid out a surprisingly clear plan for student loans.
Much of his immigration has been smoke and mirrors so far.
