interesting how you're not shy to make such bold claims, but never once acknowledged that trump's approach towards the virus, politicising it in the first place, playing favourites with federal help, anti-mask and distancing rhetoric, undermining science, self-enrichment with relief measures... was directly responsible for countless loss of life and immense economic damage.

not that those are even remotely the same ofc. when it comes to the EU, which i totally agree fucked up regarding covid-19 (not as much as the UK and the US, but still), this one concerns SECURING vaccine doses for its members, not research or production itself, let alone its general approach towards following experts' and scientists' recommendations. of course someone like you will be eager to overstate the failure to an almost absurd degree, but that does ofc not mean we shouldn't demand better and push for political consequences.

lol, just because YOU do, doesn't mean "everyone" does. luckily most people aren't as hateful and mad as you, little buddy:

not that i really expect you to start caring about facts when your feelings tell you otherwise...

Relax bud, I was being sarcastic, not that I expect you understand that when you don't talk to anyone IRL

To think we could have had Timmermans...

Oh well.

Timmermans would have been more competent than von der Leyen, but I disagree with his stances on pretty much every single issue. Tbh, I would prefer a broomstick over Timmermans...

pretty sure you disagree with pretty much everyone who doesn't want to abolish the EU altogether on basically every single issue, so that's hardly a meaningful statement against a particular candidate, lol. your hatred towards brussels is hardly a secret, and it shows in every single post.

An influx of 300,000 Hong Kongers over the next few years would be a considerable boost to the economy and help us retain a competitive advantage in financial services

Also, fuck China

Just for the record: after the latest election for the European parliament resulted in a gridlock between the leftist and rightist factions, it was French president Macron (not Merkel) who settled for and pushed through von der Leyen as a compromise candidate. Von der Leyen had already been a complete and total failure in her role as a minister in Merkel's cabinet, so at least to us Germans, it's no surprise that anything this woman touches turns to shit.

Nigel Farage points out that this is nothing out of the ordinary, in this really the case? Are all of those EU "commissioners" failures in their own domestic politics?

(First couple minutes of vid)

If true, brace yourself lads, this Euro train is going to crash and burn.

at least they got plenty of vaccine in their own country and will be able to restart, while EU states continue to lose hundreds of billions

who the fuck thought it was a good idea to let a woman, who couldnt even buy boots and basic supplies for the german army, handle the most important task in recent memory?

meanwhile the british let an actual expert handle their business and it worked

and they dodged """"helping"""" broke ass states like italy, who have just made a criminal from the european central bank their prime minister

in italy people can buy new heating systems for a 110% discount, funded by germans, dutch and the other net payers

draghis favorite hobby is extracting money from the northern states, that will be fun

brexit was already worth it and if they are not complete idiots they will keep winning

they just need to be better than the moronic, anti democratic and corrupt EU

Brexit isn’t worth it just because of being ahead in vaccinations by a few months. The long term harm to exporters having to fill in customs declarations forms and other red tape like rules of origin and VAT is big on both sides. When the UK grace period is over and we start checking goods coming in there will be further disruption like what we’ve already seen with EU checks on our goods. Some of it will be temporary as we become clearer on the rules but there is a permanent loss of efficiency associated with the extra red tape. No deal on financial services either which is very bad for the UK - how could the government be so foolish to only agree a deal covering goods when the UK is 80% services? We should use our vaccine supply as a negotiating tool instead of simply handing over our vaccines to the EU when they start demanding them.
