Anti-semitism is probably even more ridiculous since Semitic is a linguistic category that was transformed into a racial category in order for Europeans to discriminate against Jews because doing so based on religion alone was out of fashion at that time. This is why some Arabs argue that discrimination against them should be considered anti-semitism as well since Arabic was part of the same linguistic group as Aramaic.
