no, it's literally not - and you can't weasel yourself out of that by pretending it's your poor english skills that made you claim something that is demonstrably false. it was a lie, plain and simple.

the EU demanding that AZ fulfill what they contractually committed to is NOT 'demanding the UK's vaccine supplies'. the supplies they produce are not the UK's exclusively to begin with - maybe that's the point you struggle to comprehend? your claim was not that 'the EU wants AZ to produce the vaccines it ordered in all four of its facilities, something AZ explicitly agreed to in its contract with the EU', which would have been a correct statement - no, you deliberately chose a dishonest and factually incorrect framing in order to make the EU look worse, and the poor little UK a victim.

hmmm... where have i seen this before? oh right, just every time some braindead brexiteer uncritically repeated the leave grifters' anti-EU propaganda. really shameful, mate.

A foreigner talking about poor English skills

We agreed a deal with AZ months before the EU while they were languishing and haggling on price. Our contract is also superior to the EU's, with UK supply prioritised before doses are sent abroad, so the EU's demands are not contractually or reality based and they fucked up. You should be solely focusing your anger towards the EU for their mismanagement of the vaccine rollout instead of AstraZeneca, the UK, dro94 or braindead brexiteers

while i'm glad we're not anywhere close to british government levels of failure regarding covid-19, i DO indeed have plenty of criticism not only for our national government, but the EU as a whole - that's not the point here though.

you claimed the EU was "demanding the UK's vaccine supplies". that was a lie. it was a farage-like misrepresentation of facts, in order to make the EU look bad and the UK like a victim. your attempts to backpedal, reframe the issue, and deflect, they all failed. your jingoistic ignorance made you look like a fool, and you should feel bad about that. do better next time, there are plenty of legitimate reasons to criticise the EU for, and i will happily join you doing so, seeing how much joy it seems to give you.

any "anger" or blame should primarily go towards AZ imo. they clearly made contracts that they were never going to be able to fulfill, and then tried to weasel out of one, using legally questionable arguments in order to exclude facilities that the EU previously invested into, and that they explicitly agreed to being part of their 'best effort' in their contract with the EU.
i feel no animosity whatsoever towards the UK - i actually feel bad for its citizens and hope they get as many doses as possible as soon as possible. they clearly need them more than anyone else right now.
and my only problem with YOU is that your blind hatred towards the EU made you into a lying hack. i don't enjoy 'defending' the EU for its covid-19 response - it's incredibly flawed in theory and practice imo. that does, however, NOT mean i won't call out blatant smears and dishonesties by people with an obvious and petty agenda.

Clearly your understanding of the English language needs to improve if you think I'm backpedalling. My last five posts in this thread consist of me saying that the EU has demanded the UK's vaccine supply, which they have objectively done.

I have no hatred towards the EU, do you even realise I voted to remain or have you not paid attention for the last four years? I want my country to be a success and the EU is a competitor.

my understanding is just fine, as i was able to identify several attempts of you trying to dishonestly suggest that you just can't find anything that proves it 'explicitly', but that certain things MEAN that the EU had "demanded the UK's vaccine supply", when clearly they haven't.

when it comes to the EU, you're a proven liar and hack. it's pathetic, but also somewhat understandable considering you regard it a "competitor", a threat to your country's "success", whatever you mean by that... maybe let me introduce you to the idea of international cooperation to the benefit of everyone involved then? some of you brits really seem to be stuck in 19th century imperialist fantasies, lol.

I take that silence to mean you thought I was a brexiteer then...

Choosing between competition and cooperation is a false dichotomy. Trade is both of those things.

i said you behave LIKE a brexiteer when it comes to your ignorant jingoism, and that your mischaracterisation of the issue was farage-LIKE, as in factually wrong and intended to make the EU look bad, while portraying the poor little UK as its victim. at no point did i claim you voted for brexit, and it's entirely irrelevant in this context to begin with.

all i'm saying is that you established yourself as a lying hack and over-emotional EU hater, and that you should do better if you can. i'm perfectly fine with criticising the EU - it deserves it in many different aspects on a multitude of issues - but petty lies from bitter people just rub me the wrong way, that's why i'm calling them out.

They need to bring back the hung, drawn and quartered for this vile filth.

Saying that... it goes for quite a few of the current tory scum fest of a cabinet we currently have.
