https://twitter.com/BraveBooksUS/status/1673326562035265537The American Library Association made an internal guidance video for their public libraries on how to stop conservative groups from meeting at libraries as constitutionally required by the first amendment
They tell libraries that in response to the plans by Kirk Cameron to host nationwide "See You At The Library" events, public libraries should book out all their spaces with fake events.

8/ We’ve received many messages from potential “See You at the Library” hosts seeking guidance on overcoming barriers to reserving space at their libraries. One of the common tactics libraries are using to sabotage the event is to claim that August 5th is completely blocked off for events. We have evidence this is coordinated from above.
An internal library source wrote to us:
"The children's services coordinator at the New Jersey State Library system notified employees about the upcoming story hour Brave Books had planned to organize at libraries across America. Frankly, I had to read the email three times. The text is nothing less than an active call for de-platforming Brave Books. What is particularly chilling is that her call for suppression is premised solely on the fact that Brave Books ‘has a right-wing ideology.’ In essence, her rationale is that any speech that is right of center has no place in NJ libraries.”
The following leaked email is from Sharon Rawlins, the children's services coordinator for @njstatelibrary. She suggests libraries block off meeting rooms on August 5th to prevent us from renting space for a story hour because of our “right-wing ideology.”
There's something all too deliciously ironic about the
public library systems of america leading the charge for censorship and suppression of free speech.
