Not really, the energy supply crisis is overstated considering the huge reserves of LNG in the world. Germany and the EU are securing LNG to cover them until next winter, plus Nord Stream I is still in operation

The main consequence of this is that governments will invest more heavily in renewables and importing energy from elsewhere, in light of Russia's political instability and penchant for sanctions

There are neither the number of LNG boats nor terminals needed to replace that supply and even if there were, it would be a huge cost to Germany. And there's no renewables to replace the ~50% of home heating and chemical sector usage. That was the same self-interest that led Germany down this route in the first place. The original sin was the green movement, but at least since then Merkel and now Scholz are acting in Germany's interests.

#SERBIA—"[#Ukraine's ambassador] is demanding that we condemn #Russia|n aggression, etc. ... If so, I ask that he call his president #Zelensky and ask him to condemn the horrific and tragic aggression of #US, #UK, and #NATO against Serbia. I am sure Zelensky will agree." #Vučić

Guess they haven't forgotten NATO's bombing campaign against their people in the 90's

NATO, for all intents and purposes, is a terrorist organization, and they proved it in the 90's when they massacred thousands of civilians in Yugoslavia.

Not replace, but avert a crisis. LNG plus ramping up coal in the short - medium term will keep Europe ticking along. Germany will eventually approve Nord Stream 2 when this dies down but the damage to Russia's reputation as a reliable gas supplier can't be undone

And you still can't provide even one half-decent argument, preferring to throw petty insults instead. During our time arguing here have you provided a single excuse for what Biden has done in Ukraine, or for Ukraine's warmongering aggression against their own people? Nope, you're incapable of even acknowledging that it even happened.

You are completely lost in the propaganda - just admit it. Willing to ignore the countless warcrimes of Ukraine's army because you can't handle the truth, that the US narrative is false and based on lies. Honestly, you should be ashamed of yourself - but shame and self-reflection aren't exactly qualities that Americans possess in droves, as I have noticed.

That's the reason I'm here. The average American citizen, if they were aware of the truth, would no doubt be infuriated at what their government has done in their name. They would be infuriated over how they have been lied to about one war after the other for decades. I don't give a damn if I'm labeled a Russian troll by unthinking sheep - that is not my target audience, and those people can't be helped anyway.

On Wednesday I am attending a protest in a certain US state (don't want to doxx myself) against Biden's warmongering in Ukraine and against Ukraine's warcrimes. I will continue these actions so long as Neocons run the white house and US congress. Americans need to be awakened to the truth, and it just so happens that this is my calling. In the end, the movement for truth will win. The lies of the ruling regime simply don't have any ground to stand on.

Although I will admit I mainly only post here for entertainment (it helps me understand the mindset/views of the sheep like you) and also to blow off steam. I've been on a rager ever since Obama supported the coup in Ukraine in 2014, and I intend to continue until US foreign policy finally changes for the better. There are thousands more just like me in this country spread out between various peace groups and movements - but I suppose you think they are paid Russian trolls as well? HAH! Never change, my friend.

My only regret is that I didn't wake up sooner - for example, when Obama bombed Libya back into the stone age in 2011, I believed the CNN propaganda at the time. I unthinkingly believed it to be justified. It was only until Obama openly supported fascists responsible for murdering thousands of their own people in Ukraine that I myself woke up to the true horrible nature of US foreign policy and imperialism. Soon after it became clear the US was pursuing the same policy in Syria - providing open support for Al-Qaeda and ISIS terrorists. For me, the Ukraine crisis is personal. I've had enough of watching my country openly support mass-murdering neo-nazi scum and I've had enough of them lying to cover it up, while justifying their horrible crimes against humanity and blaming the victims all in one breath. I'm fucking pissed off and tired of this shit.

It has to end, for the betterment of the entire world. The movement for truth and for peace will win in the end - despite the dark forces attempting to divide & conquer humanity at this time.

What you should probably understand here, is that I'm not participating to win points or to defend America's actions - I'm very often critical of America on my own terms. Hell, I bet we agree on a lot. But I also recognize you for a Putin bootlicker, and as has already been said in this thread:

Imagine carrying water for Vladimir fucking Putin in 2022.

And going by Faux News, you'd think Justin Trudeau was the one invading Ukraine.

Putin both prevented Syria from falling into the hands of ISIS and has stood up against the fascists in Ukraine that have attempted to genocide their own Russian-speaking population in Donbass.

If it weren't for him, this planet would be a lot worse off right now. Syria would be an islamic caliphate ruled by Daesh and Ukraine would be an even bigger bloodbath. He has essentially put Ukraine into a position where they will have no choice but to call off their offensive against Donbass - more or less saving thousands that would have died during said offensive operation, including the lives of Ukrainian army soldiers, even.

Do I trust him completely? No, but he has clearly demonstrated that he cares about his people and is obliged to defend their interests when it is necessary, regardless of the consequences. American leaders are basically the opposite - they say one thing but then do the other, while selling their people out to the highest bidder.

When was the last time the United States had a president that could hold a candle to Putin? Biden's senile and clearly a puppet, Trump meant well but was a moron, Obama was a slick liar that bailed out the banks at the expense of the American people the moment he became president in 2008, before launching numerous wars. GWB, who was president when I was a teenager was constantly mocked and compared to a chimpanzee. I was too young when Bill Clinton was president to care about him, but all I know is he is/was a huge sex addict and responsible for bombing Yugoslavia along with NATO. None of these people inspire much in the way of confidence. So who was the last decent one? Certainly not while I was alive, so maybe JFK, and we know how that ended.

So maybe you could understand why I would be more sympathetic to Putin than Joe frickin' Biden, a man whom has been serving the interests of wall street since the day he became a politician something like 5 decades ago.

I understand that I may be illogically pro-Russian at times, but until I see evidence that Putin is actually some evil dictator (and not just some ridiculous and poorly conducted false flag poisoning carried out by British intelligence), I will continue to respect him more than, say, a complete and total puppet like Joe Biden.

Joe Biden speech on sanctions on Russia. Just wow the people that voted for him. Then the whole walk off like a senile old man when it came to questions. I just can’t believe this is what we have as a president.

Just for devil's advocate, I can imagine carrying water for vladimir fucking putin in 2022. Autocratic dictatorships only "work" if the dictator is more Augustus and less Elagabalus. There's a reason George W was still drawing portraits of the guy after he left office, Putin took over the kleptocratic dregs of an imploded empire and rebuilt it into a functional first world country, without the colossal crimes against humanity and catastrophes of his predecessors. The criticisms of him stem from stuff like 'assassinating a dissident' or 'rigging a democratic election', instead of 'killing millions in purges' or 'millions dying in famines'. Cracking eggs to make omelets instead of repeating the Holodomor. The quality of life index for Russians tripled under Putin, he couldn't compete with the US or China yet carved out a 3rd place sphere of influence in a world full of rival developing nations that threaten to eclipse Russia. I don't think kneejerk jingoism and blind hatred of 'the enemy' serves any purpose when discussing geopolitics, look what its got us in the past.

Looking at geopolitics, its pretty hard to pretend America has played a good game of chess against Putin in Afghanistan, the EU, Syria, Ukraine, etc etc. All our injuries are self-inflicted, Putin's main tool of destruction has been to weaponize our idiotic instincts against us, like spraying a hose of brown people at the EU and watching the chaos ensue. Maybe if anything it diminishes any credit we could give to Putin's own skill, in that he's been profiting off American incompetence. And back on the double-devil's advocate, Putin's unstable autocracy is not a sustainable model and we could see Russia implode once more if Putin chokes on a pretzel. Too much relies upon one man, and his successor's main claim is being his puppet.

It doesn't take plunging yourself into moral relativism to just acknowledge that Putin is a more competent leader than Joe fucking Biden, at least.
