Her (legal, current) husband Ahmed Hirsi's role in the scandal is peculiar since he's the one getting cucked and finding out he was in a marriage to a woman already married to her brother, apparently news to him. The fact he hasn't 'flipped' yet is particular. And records now show that just a couple months ago, he was fired from his position as 'senior policy aide' to Councilwoman Alondra Cano, notably a taxpayer funded position not a private campaign role. Alondra is an Ilhan Omar ally and got her position through Omar's endorsement, being a radical with a history of sabotage and rioting at the pipeline protests, anti-semitic rants, black lives matter stuff, ethics violations, a no-show public council job, etc. And right after getting Omar's endorsement and winning the race, she took Omar's husband for her #1 paying role, a bit of that basic mundane graft that goes on in local politics. But that comes up to the current day, when Ahmed Hirsi has been conspicuously fired from his patronage job and is no longer on the public payroll, something they can't hide because its all public record.

The rumored word from the Somali whistleblowers is that Omar is using financial leverage to keep her husband from filing for divorce and force him to become reliant on Omar's assets and income. If he turns on her and goes to the public, they'll get divorced and he'll be a man trying to file for child support from an ex-wife (good fucking luck, let alone in local courts controlled by her allies).

It seems that unless the walls actually close in and Omar's downfall becomes inevitable, Hirsi won't flip. It wouldn't be in his rational self-interest to spill the beans on her unless it was to turn witness at trial to avoid his own charges

Excellent. The longer Omar stays on the national stage and the higher she potentially rises through the ranks, the more damage she will inflict on her peers and the Democratic brand.

I have two competing theories

Either republicans are intentionally slow-rolling their takedown of Ilhan Omar to bring the most political damage in 2020 and democrats are simply too fearful of touching a somali muslim to avert the impending hindenberg
or
Society (and keith ellison) has made a black somali muslim 1st term congresswoman so untouchable that she could bite the head off a toddler on television and not face charges.

I mean, rep. drazkowski is not holding back and has been repeatedly calling her out and demanding investigations, and as far as anyone can tell, nothing is happening
and we've had proof of a whole laundry list of felonies for years now that it only got more ridiculous when we find out she's using a false identity and would be stripped of her citizenship and congressional seat... if the laws were enforced

hmm, i think she might have already gotten the axe if she was an obscure backbencher. but since the democrats and the liberal media shoved her into the national spotlight as the "maximum diversity points"-contrast figure to Trump, they're now in a bind and cant allow her to go down without causing considerable damage to their "diversity of any kind is always nothing but wonderful" platform and giving Trump and huge "I told you so"-moment.
