to be able to do that you have to tell me a bit about your mathematical knowledge - what do you know about the exponential function, ie e^x or exp(x), and/or power series?

I know absolutely nothing. Now explain it to me if you please.

the equation e^(iπ)+1=0 is the special case of the more general complex function e^(iz)=cos(z)+i*sin(z) for z=π
since you need some understanding of complex analysis and trigonometric functions
it unfortunately will take considerably more time to go get to this from scratch than to read the bible a few times

If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.

he must not have well understood the 'general theory of relativity' then :P

He was a genius explaining things to other geniuses, hardly a fair comparison.

if your goign 100 and a car passes you going 200 it looks like the car is going 100 past you.

your your going 185,999 mps and light passes you it looks like light is going 186,000 mps

V = d/t

if velocity is set, and distance is set, time must change.

its not really that hard to explain.

from what i understand thats not an exact quote

it was actually a comment he made after some one asked him to expalin something about quantum physicas i belive, to which he thought and thought, and then replied, I cant explain it simply, we just dont understand it well enough.

not to other geniuses necessarily but to people who understood the subject

btw, i on purpose did not add to my last post that the first line you quoted from me is actually the simple explanation
and if that is not simple enough then let me point to the power series of e^(iz) which can be resolved to match the right side of the equation
and yes, i would wonder that if someone without prerequisites would read his 'general theory of relativity' and consider it simple

see what i did above? i dint show you lorentz equation and how it is used to convert coordiantes in to the coordinate primes.

I explained it, as einstien might have told you a story about 2 men on a train with an individual between them holding a lighter.

or newton with an apple.

but you didn't explain 'general relativity' including space curvature etc so whoever sees this get's a wrong understanding
and it doesn't explain why you can't go past the speed of light
and newton's apple is not an explanation but an anecdote about him having a 'flash of light'
