Here is the data on all unauthorized immigrants in the US:

http://www.pewresearch.org/files/2015/07/FT_15.07.23_UnauthImmigrants.png

As you can see, the number of illegals/unauthorized immigrants in the US has decreased since 2007.

Let me ask you a question: Has Donald Trump talked about the issue of illegal immigration honestly with the American people?

When you look at this graph, would you say illegal immigrants are "pouring" over the border, like Trump does? Why do you think he doesn't talk about the fact that illegal immigration is a problem that has gotten better or leveled off since 2007?

Is the problem of illegal immigration becoming worse? Are more illegals coming into this country than leaving?

Not once did I say that Trump was being honest with the American people or that the problem of illegal immigration was getting worse. I simply answered that one person's question and pointed out how with two graphs in front of you....one that makes your argument seem stronger, but less relevant, and one that is relevant, you chose the one less relevant to the discussion.

If only Trump had specifically focused on Mexicans.

I was writing his post in plainspeak.

The statistical methods are shoddy. Youre just a trivial human being.

Both graphs are relevant to the discussion. I'm not misrepresenting anything or trying to hide anything. When Donald Trump refers to illegal immigration, he is mainly referring to it in the context of the Mexican border. His "Wall" proposal is arguably his biggest policy proposal, and that's the wall he wants placed on the Southern border of the US.

Even if you looked solely at the second graph, illegal immigration is a problem that has gotten better since 2007 and has leveled off in recent years. My argument is Donald Trump is being dishonest by saying illegal immigration is a problem that is getting worse in the US.

I'm not arguing it's okay to let illegal immigrants or criminals into the US. I'm simply arguing that illegal immigration is a problem that has gotten better or leveled off since 2007, not worse. That is not what Donald Trump is saying. He is being dishonest about the issue.

Also, what's wrong with Pew Research's sampling methods? On the graph, they also have a 90% confidence interval (the gray area or width along the line). Even accounting for statistical error, what the statistics suggest are abundantly clear: illegal immigration is a problem that has gotten better or leveled off, not worse, since 2007.

How do you sample people who are undocumented accurately?

Is it really that hard for liberals to see common sense when we can't even get the normal census completely right?

Even if your statistics were right, which they aren't. You're still breaking the law.

And even though you're a delusional liberal that thinks breaking the law "IS OKAY", it isn't realistically "OKAY" because it is a drain on the local first world culture. Proven by dwindling salaries, dropping standards of living, and skyrocketing entitlement usage rates.

NOTABLY:
They used old data to extrapolate, aka shit math, as early as 2009
They excluded other Central American countries
They completely excluded the huge spike in immigration by cherrypicking and avoiding post-2013 data

Please note that in this discussion, I am not arguing that illegal immigration should be acceptable. I am arguing that illegal immigration has not gotten worse since 2007. In fact, it has gotten better since 2007 and has leveled off in recent years.
