The thing is, everyone is aware of Fox News' extreme partisan bias, and either embraces it anyway, or watches their shows with utmost caution.
By contrast, a ton of people still think that outlets like the NYTimes or the WaPo are newspapers or record and would never publish any fake news or anything with an intentional partisan slant.
You shouldn't pretend that everyone knows how biased and extreme Fox News is. There's millions of Americans who believe that Fox is the only fair network.
I've made this argument before, but I find it bewildering that people hypercritical of the media hold the profession up as if it's supposed to be pristine. The idea of objective journalism hasn't been around that long, and furthermore, there's no good reason to hold a group called "journalists" to an astronomically higher standard than Trump, Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and others. Trump and Hannity have a vastly larger audience than the NYT and WaPo, and their audience believes what they say. So if anything, they should be held even more accountable when they get the facts wrong.
