nihilism and black pilled people do have a large crossover, but black pillism at it's core just means thinking the battle is lost and the west is beyond repair. its just an acknowledgement that fighting more is pointless because the globalists have already won.

i do tend to agree that fighting the breadth of progressivism is fairly pointless, but worth fighting. and i wholeheartedly believe that fighting against automation is pointless, and energy would be better spent solving fallout issues that it will cause before they arise.

Even for someone who believes that the West is beyond repair, it might still be worth fighting to delay the downfall until after his own lifespan.


Fighting automation is moronic. It allows mankind to produce the same amount (or more) stuff with less work - that's an improvement almost by definition. Automation is exclusively an issue of distribution and lifestyle adjustment.

the problem occurs when people are for the advancements of automation but against the lifestyle changes and expansions of safety nets required to make a working society given those advancements. it's like being pro speed boat and anti life jacket.

we of course need to make the advancements in the societal side of things incrementally and constantly reassess them, but doing nothing is a terrible idea. and that terrible idea is america in 2021.

The biggest issue is that the spoils of automation are automatically (pun not intended) going to the capital side while all the disruption goes to the labor side. To raise the money needed to expand social safety nets, finance an UBI and all that stuff in the first place, society needs to implement a new type of large-scale taxation of the very people who control every lever of power.

in classic american fashion we'll be 10 years too late, and the taxation needed will be so stifling that corporations fuck us and throw us into an even worse recession. ive tried for 10 years to make capitalists see this, they can't, they worship at the alter of the corporations and have no ability to sense shifting paradigms.

Automation is a blessing in a way. Humans were not made to work. They are made to live. If they can cover every aspect of society with Automation so the people can start living by giving them a fixed salary, it'd be great.

People could finally see life for what it is. Last time i had a real job was 10+ years ago and i probably will never have a real job again. I'm self sufficient and love every single minutes of it. The day people stop working is the day people will start being healthy mentally.

The problem is nobody want to fight nowadays. Our ancestors were ready to die for better changes while we live inside playing video games and watching TV. The idea of sacrificing their safe bubbles to help their future generations is a NONO. That would involve too much of a risk to their "important" lives.
