Considering Republicans are overwhelmingly more poor, less educated, and less informed, I think this is something we can all get behind. It would basically hand left-wing candidates the keys to the country.

To be informed is a choice.

According to exit polling in the 2020 Presidential Election in the United States, 57 percent of surveyed voters making less than 50,000 U.S. dollars reported voting for former Vice President Joe Biden. In the race to become the next president of the United States, 54 percent of voters with an income of 100,000 U.S. dollars or more reported voting for incumbent President Donald Trump.

Are you trolling or serious?

Exit polls show that Trump voters were richer than Clinton/Biden voters in both 2016 and 2020, respectively. In 2016, the electorate had more or less stopped being strongly sorted along income lines (after decades of positive correlation between income and Republican vote share). In 2020, things got seriously out of whack, with the $50k - 99k bracket being Biden's strongest segment while $100k - 200k was Trump's strongest bracket and $200k+ was tied.

Here is 2016:

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/11/08/us/politics/election-exit-polls.html

--------------------------------

Democrats clearly have the higher formal education. We would have to factor in age as a confounding variable on both income and education though. A really rigorous analysis is not possible by looking exclusively at the topline numbers.
Also, is the difference really "overwhelming"? Looking at exit poll data again:

Note that the overall result was 51-47. Relative to the lean of the electorate as a whole, non-college voters thus were R+12, college dropouts were +-0, associate degree holders were R+7, BAs were +-0, and postgrad degree holders D+21.

Therefore, the partisan lean by education is relatively even among the middle 66% of the population, and a comparison with the second split (college/no college) reveals that almost the entire edge of Democrats came from their lopsided margin among postgrad degree holders who only make up 15% of the electorate. Among the other 85% of the electorate, the correlation between education and partisan lean exists, yes, but seems surprisingly low.

----------------------------------

When it comes to political interest: do you really think that all the poor, low education blacks and hispanics, which lean Dem by a 2:1 rate or higher, are super informed or interested in politics? You're only looking at the white population and think that all the hillbillies and idiots vote Republican while all the high-minded folks vote Dem, but you're ignoring the droves of low propensity low info minorities who are a bedrock of the Dem coalition...

While looking up the exit poll data on the nbcnews website, I stumbled over an article from 5 months ago which really aged like fine milk:

thor has an inferiority complex when it comes to money. spawns from being born into privilege and wasting all of it. he blames republicans for his poor choices and thinks the government will fix all his bad decision-making.

From what I can gather, he was born as white trash and his smug attitude toward these people is the attempt to distance himself from his humble origins and the family/neighbors he considers an embarrassment. Social climbers always tend to be the most ostentatiously condescending toward the socioeconomic milieu they left behind.

If you came around to see where I grew up, you would be too. When I was growing up we were on the list of bottom 10 counties by per capita income, just to give you an idea.

It's sad that they live the way they do, but honestly, virtually all of them vote Republican. They bring it on themselves.

From what I can see, Missouri was to the left of the nation overall as recently as 1988, voted for Clinton twice during the 90s and was close to the national median (and closely contested) even in 2000.
At least on the presidential level, it only flipped from swing state to reliably red in 2004. Likewise, according to Ballotpedia, the Missouri State Senate flipped from blue to red in 2001 and the State House in 2003.

Hence, if there even is a political party/the voting behavior of the residents to be blamed for Missouri being poor during the time you grew up, then its Democrats, not Republicans!
