hey dumb dumb. i literally got back from a nursing home and end of care facility 2 days ago visiting my dying (at the time, now deceased) grandmother. ive been in there perhaps a dozen times in the last year visiting her. those places are hell holes run by incompetent (largely) uneducated fake nurses. never at any point did i say any different. you just strawmanned that position up because i made a light hearted joke about national guardsmen.

so go ahead and stfu ty.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother, but you can understand exactly why your mockery is neither light-hearted nor productive.

The national guard exists as a resource to be utilized in any form of natural disaster. Covid would qualify. The temporary structures that're now being dismantled without ever seeing any tangible use would be an excellent "interim" location for infected residents of care homes, and the National Guard is a staffing option that would be feasible and cost-effective.

And it's not about sending elderly family members to alternative facilities willy nilly. Preventing them from transmitting the virus to everyone else in the nursing home is the key.

For my elderly family members, I'd be more tempted to pull them out of nursing homes, set them up in a hotel instead. Then again, I never created any policies forcing patients to return to nursing homes prior to recovering from the virus, like this person did:
