The word "Christian" is thrown around loosely ever since it was coined. Many people claim to carry the "true gospel" without knowing what they believe. With that being said, it is possible he was a Christian minister and just didn't back it up with a scriptural answer.

The guy claimed to be a Minister of a Church of 50 people and quit because he got sad for telling people they're born sinners... LOL

...you can ask God for faith .

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven,
but he who does the will of My Father in heaven."

"What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith,
and have not works? can faith save him?"
"Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone."
"For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works
is dead
also.""But without faith it is impossible to please him:
for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,
and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him"
"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
"...when ye received the word of God
which ye heard of us,
ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is
in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe."
"He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved
;but he that believeth not
shall be damned.
"And he that doubteth is damned if he eat,
because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. "

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the
name of Jesus Christ
for the remission of sins, and ye shall
receive the gift of the Holy Ghost...""the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord. "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and
of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

"Jesus answered and said unto him,
If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him,
and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him."
"He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them
not, because ye are not of God
." "...If I honour myself,
my honour is nothing
:it is my Father that honoureth me;
of whom ye say, that he is your God:"

"man doth not live by bread onely, but by every word
that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live"

Interesting stuff, thanks for the well thought-out response.

Well, if friends/family went to jail for a legit crime, I would not feel that it was an injustice.
im. But
I guess it comes down to whether or not you can accept the Christian view of God's justice.  You have to wonder though, knowing God gave us our moral nature, why does my moral nature tell me that my non-Christian friends/family shouldn't be tortured for eternity?  I'd bet that the vast majority of Christians would agree with that feeling.

This is a concept that plagues most Christians. I think it comes from not seeing the whole picture. Our judgement is from a very limited, time-oriented, low standard of morality. We judge from our standard of morality which is...as long as he doesn't hurt anyone else much than he is a good person and deserves happiness. But Jesus strikes a deeper issue AKA the heart and motive. "Even hating a person is murder." "Anything done without faith is sin." Sin isn't just doing bad things, sin is also not trusting in God's plan. For example. Moses wasn't told not to strike the rock for water to come out for the Israelites. In fact, earlier in his life that was the directions God gave him. But at that instance God told him to speak to the rock and water would come out. When he hit the rock, he didn't trust what God said, instead he trusted what was true earlier. Because of this Moses was banned from the promise land even though he walked and talked with God face-to-face.

I think this idea is demonstrative proof that an all-loving God doesn't exist.

um good verses but confused on the point you are trying to make. I would love to hear a brief synopsis since you took the time to bold and enlarge many words.

We aren't inviting people into a funeral. Christians get down because they believe they are the bearer of bad news. Guess what?! We get to invite people to the biggest part ever. The world is inviting people to a party it can't throw...God is inviting you to a party that can't be stopped!

The funeral we do invite others to partake in, is the funeral of sin. This can only be done through the righteous blood of Christ. However, by this blood our sins are forgiven and we are made new. Hallelujah and praise be to God, who was and is and is to come!

...your mishmash of Scriptures is a horrible example of trying to use them as a battering ram and you make no distinction between what Jesus said to the Jews in His role as their Messiah and Scriptures intended for the Gentiles once the mystery of grace was revealed by Paul . Don't ever do this again...

I have a question but I haven't read the 50 pages of this thread so I apologize if it has already been addressed.

Is the bible divinely influenced or is it a work of man alone, if so to what extent?

...the Christian teaching is that the Bible was written by men inspired by the Holy Spirit which is divine influence .
